Yardwork in the Parks

Have some free time and want to get outside? People are always welcome to help keep our parks at their best throughout the year. No need to contact anyone ahead of time but we'd welcome photos to publicize your great work!

  • Make piles of fallen branches and sticks
  • Rake and bag leaves (no sticks in the leaf bags please)
  • Clean up trash, using the city provided waste receptacles

Parks staff will periodically collect leaf bags and piles of sticks/branches, so please leave them off pathways near a waste receptacle or at the foot of a large tree.

Thank you Beth Clarey

Walt Thompson maintained the Butterfly Garden on the Rail Trail for many years now. Recently, Beth Clarey stepped in to help. She has organized a group of volunteers to promote the growth of native plants and support a thriving pollinator community, which of course benefits the wider ecosystem. Thank you Walt and Beth!

Thank you volunteers!
